After appearing to fall asleep in a cabinet meeting, Donald Trump was mockingly labeled the ‘commander in sleep #4

A New Nickname Takes Off After Cabinet Meeting

Donald Trump may hold the highest office in the country, but after appearing to drift off during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, he picked up two new nicknames on social media: “Dozy Don” and “Commander in Sleep.”

A Marathon Meeting and a Tired President

At 79, Trump began the meeting looking energized, asking each Cabinet member to outline their major accomplishments from the administration’s first year.
But as the session stretched past the two-hour mark—running a total of two hours and 17 minutes—cameras captured his eyelids drooping and his head dipping forward.

The meeting covered everything from his tougher anti–drug trafficking agenda to questions about his health and a fiery critique of Somali migrants.

White House Pushes Back at Online Mockery

Clips of Trump’s apparent drowsiness spread quickly, but White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the idea that he had nodded off.

“President Trump was fully alert and leading a nearly three-hour Cabinet meeting,” she told the Daily Mail.

This is the third incident in recent weeks where Trump has been accused of falling asleep during official events.

Before his attention seemed to fade, Trump sparred with journalists over repeated questions about his health.

“You always find something—‘Is he in good health?’” he said sarcastically. “Biden was great.”

He then blasted the press:
“I do four news conferences a day. I deal with very intelligent lunatics. I give all the right answers. There’s never a scandal.”

Health Scrutiny Grows

Pressure over his physical condition increased after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz urged Trump to release his MRI results. Trump did so, and on December 1 the White House announced that the scan was ‘perfectly normal.’

“You people are crazy,” Trump told reporters. “I’ll tell you when something’s wrong. Right now I think I’m sharper than 25 years ago.”

Despite his confidence, Trump’s concentration visibly waned around ninety minutes into the meeting. Cameras caught him with his eyes closed while others were speaking — fueling the wave of teasing nicknames online.

Leavitt Defends Him Once More

Leavitt doubled down on her stance, praising Trump’s “incredible final answer” and calling the meeting “historic” while highlighting what she described as major accomplishments.

During that same closing statement, Trump took aim at Representative Ilhan Omar and Somali migrants.

“She’s garbage, her friends are garbage,” he said.
“They complain and do nothing but b***h. We don’t want them in our country. Let them go back and fix the place they came from.”
