My ex and I have been divorced for 2 years and have two kids. My ex got a new girlfriend. I thought she seemed nice.My heart sank. It wasn\u2019t anger I felt first \u2014 it was fear. In a world where privacy keeps children safe, seeing their lives displayed so openly terrified me.<\/p>\n

But then she started posting photos of my kids. I politely asked her to stop, but she refused. So, I went to her IG, and was horrified to find endless public posts with my children in them \u2014 their names, their school uniforms, and even photos taken during private family moments I hadn\u2019t seen before.<\/p>\n

Instead of reacting emotionally, I reached out again \u2014 kindly, but firmly \u2014 explaining why safety and boundaries matter. I told her I appreciated her caring about the kids, but that sharing their identity publicly without consent wasn\u2019t acceptable. She brushed it off, saying she was \u201cjust proud\u201d and wanted to show the world her new family.<\/p>\n

realized then that this wasn\u2019t about malice \u2014 it was about understanding and respect. Still, I needed to protect my children. So I spoke with my ex calmly, without accusations.<\/p>\n

I explained how public exposure could put our kids at risk and asked him to support healthy boundaries. At first, he didn\u2019t see the issue \u2014 but after showing him examples and talking through possible consequences, he understood. Together, we decided to sit down with her and explain our concerns as a united front, not out of anger, but out of love for the children.<\/p>\n

To my relief, she eventually apologized. She admitted she hadn\u2019t realized how serious it was and took the photos down immediately. We agreed on a family rule \u2014 no posting pictures of the kids without both parents\u2019 consent.<\/p>\n
