‘Strangely silly’ creature washes up on SoCal beach

strange sea⁣ creature‍ that looks like something from a horror movie recently washed up on a beach in Southern California. Its creepy look was so shocking that the pictures shared on ⁣Reddit were labeled not safe for work.

The person who posted it said ⁤they found the dead animal near‌ Dana Point, California, ⁤and this info along with clear⁢ images helped people figure out what it was.

Tim Daly,‍ a spokesperson for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, told SFGATE he⁤ agreed with most⁣ comments on Reddit about the bloated creature.

It’s probably ⁤a dead moray eel, but this one “seems ‌a bit bleached from⁢ being⁤ dead.”

Moray eels are often ⁢found in Southern California waters since ‍they like to live among reefs in shallow‌ areas.

Even though they aren’t poisonous or really aggressive, it’s smart to stay away from⁢ them. If they feel scared or⁣ threatened, they might bite using ⁢their two rows of sharp⁤ teeth to ‌hold on tight.

People on Reddit who helped identify the eel‍ had fun replying to the original post.
